Job Description


  1. Position Title: General Manager of the Spanish-Singaporean Chamber of Commerce
  2. Area: Sales, Marketing and Administration
  3. Organizational Relationship
    1. Reports to: Board of Directors
    2. Supervises: Assistants, trainees and other employees (if they were to be hired)
  4. Objectives
    1. To ensure that the Chamber achieves its targets
    2. To identify opportunities to maintain and increase membership
    3. To maintain and develop good relationships with chamber members as well as other chambers
    4. To represent the Chamber when required
    5. To ensure the Chamber´s administration runs smoothly
  5. Duties
    1. Set revenue directions for the Chamber
    2. Identify opportunities that can increase the Chamber revenues
    3. Plan the Chamber´s activity calendar for the year
    4. Organize events for Chamber members and overseeing them
    5. Coordinate with the Spanish Embassy´s Commercial Office for activities
    6. Provide services to Spanish and Singaporean businesses that want to do business with each other
    7. Create, update and monitor the list of services offered by the Chamber as well as update their price
    8. Answer inquiries and concerns of Chamber members as well as Spanish and Singaporean companies that want to do business with either country
    9. Analyse and control annual performance of the Chamber´s website and Social Media (Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts)
    10. Evaluate performance of staff under him/her (no one at the moment)
    11. Issue Chamber invoices
    12. Interact with Government Agencies as required
    13. Perform other duties from time to time and/or that may be assigned by the Board of Directors
  6. Qualifications
    1. Education
      • At least a University graduate
      • Must have graduated from a Marketing, Communication/Advertising or Business Management course
    2. Work Experience
      • At least 5 years of work experience in a related field
    3. Special Qualities/Skills Required
      • By the ByLaws he or she should be Spanish
      • Must be fluent in Spanish and English, orally and in writing
      • Computer Literate (MS Office applications)
